SurplusFactor

How It Works

A transparent, three-step process from claim verification to cash in your account.

Selling your surplus funds claim to SurplusFactor is straightforward. We handle the complexity. You receive the cash.

Step 1

Claim Verification

We use SurplusPlatform to verify the surplus amount, confirm the source of funds (foreclosure vs. tax sale), identify your legal entitlement, check for competing liens or claims, and review the applicable jurisdiction rules.

Step 2

Underwriting & Offer

Our underwriting engine calculates a transparent cash purchase price based on: the verified expected recovery amount, the confidence level of your entitlement, competing interests and their priority, expected collection timeline, estimated legal and administrative costs, and jurisdiction-specific risks.

Step 3

Assignment & Payment

If you accept our offer, we prepare the required assignment documentation in compliance with your state's surplus funds laws. You receive your cash payment promptly after execution. We then assume all risk and cost of collecting the surplus funds.

The Fair Offer Standard

75%+ Target

For standard qualifying claims, we aim to offer at least 75% of the verified expected recovery amount.

25% Ceiling

We generally will not purchase a claim requiring a discount greater than 50% from the expected recovery.

Cash Now

You receive guaranteed payment now. We assume the full risk and cost of collecting the surplus funds later.

No offer is sometimes the answer. If we cannot make a fair offer, we will tell you honestly and explain why.
